Ore Data Trying To Rvm Install Ruby 2.4.1 For Mac
I recently moved into Mountain Lion (OSX 10.8) and the first thing I wanted was to install rvm to be able to get ruby 1.9.3 in the machine and be able to do some development with it, but as usual it was not as easy as it seemed (The joke is on me!) so here are the steps I took to install rvm and ruby 1.9.3 in OSX Mountain Lion. How do I install ruby gems on Mac. Ask Question. Up vote 14 down vote favorite. Rbenv install 2.4.1 # set ruby version for a specific dir rbenv local 2.4.1 # set ruby version globally rbenv global 2.4.1 rbenv rehash gem update --system. I have no interest in installing rbenv or rvm; I just need access to a public gem temporarily.
I finally got RVM working and now I would like RVM to install the latest stable ruby version. In the tutorial I am using they installed ruby 1.9.3 with command: rvm install 1.9.3 Now I want to know if there is a command to download the latest stable version, or do I have to check latest stable version and download it like that, or else, can I download any old version and run an upgrade? Normally I would try out everything, but I am working on a new server and I am trying to set it up as clean as I can:).
