Hi Guys, Having been an Ozi user for years I have now acquired a Mediatek GPS unit running WinCE 5 and Nav-N-Go iGo8 nav software (22.214.171.124157). NavnGo have a software update site called naviextras.com where you can download an update toolbox that looks at the device, compares what it finds with what's available for download, and can download and install updated maps and extras. That's what I'm told.
It all works except the USB connection. Windows XP recognises the connection and I get the complete file and folder structure as you'd expect. But the Naviextras Toolbox won't recognise the USB connection.

Without that, it refuses to do, well, anything. Anyone know of any tricks to get a connection happening in the Toolbox? No name brand and expecting iGo update as part of the package? I am only summizing because we get many many people come in here expecting their cheap Chinese GPS to have the latest maps or at least be able to get them.
Considering you can currently buy a Garmin Nuvi 1250 for $179 and get free lifetime map updates worth $189 it seems senseless to take the risk with purchases from ROC or HK. Sorry but if I am correct then that's the situation. In theory you would have to buy the full maps and possible a proper version of iGo, but that area I do not know.
